Standoutable, lovable, sellable copy for consumers and those in the worlds of food and mental health

Hiya, I’m
Kate

A woman called Kate Nilski who is a copywriter, sits next to her laptop, smiling, wearing a black Fred Perry top

I’m a freelance copywriter who specialises in writing B2C, food and mental health content.

As a copywriter, I write words that make you stand out when your customers search for stuff on Google.

As a human who loves scoffing pies and talking about mental health, I write in a mindful, kind way with a side order of good ol' fashioned humour (mind you don’t spit out those pie crumbs).

See, even though we all spend our lives shopping, working and socialising online, we are still humans looking for a smile.

So, with some SEO friendly and sometimes unexpected words, I mix the digital and retro worlds into one delightful experience. A bit like watching Only Fools and Horses on your iPhone.

Uh, and the letters mean what, now?

B2C stands for Business to Consumer. So, in other words, I write stuff for the general public.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and matters if you want to be seen in Google results.

What is a copywriter?

And who are they copying?

Well, a decent freelance copywriter works directly with your brand to create a collection of highly bespoke words. Words to show the world that your food or mental health service is just bloomin’ lovely — and persuade them to spend their money on you. And that’s what I do, because I’m pretty decent.

P.S. ‘Copy’ just means ‘words’ — all my work is unique, just like you (naww).

My Services

Once you book with me, my services include a non-negotiable call with you for around an hour, to learn all about your brand. Otherwise, how will I know what to write?

  • Your customers want to hear from you. Like, the real you. Send them some love letters with non-salesy sales copy, news, service updates and more!

You need this when: You have a great product and a fab audience, but you want to reach out and grab them (nicely).

Includes: research, brand voice development, copywriting, editing, and liaison. Usually up to 500 words per email.

  • You can’t just have a pretty shop window — your products and services need to shine, too. Product descriptions tell the audience precisely what they are getting and why they absolutely need it in their lives.

You need this when: you have a website and you have the best product or service in the world, but you want to show how yours is different — and better — than the rest.

Includes: SEO research, concise copy stuffed with information and personality, edits, and liaison. Usually up to 50 words per description.

  • A blog is a great way to keep your SEO fresh, like giving your website a spring clean but without the spiders. It’s also THE opportunity to talk to your audience about the things they care about.

You need this when: you want to stay on top of your SEO, get some amazingly specific keywords into your site, and talk turkey with your gang.

Includes: SEO research, topic research, editing, and liaison.

  • Nailing your brand voice will give you an arsenal of words to make you stand out from eeeveryone else. Show your true self, catch people’s attention, and even be bloody adored.

You need this when: you want to make an immediate splash on your website and other places. It’s also great if you have a lot of competitors who do the same thing as you do.

Includes: brand discovery time with you, sample options for you to choose from, brand voice guidelines written in your new style. Complete website rewrite optional — lemme know if you’d like this.

WHY FOOD AND
MENTAL HEALTH?

It’s simple; they’re just two of my favourite things to bang on about.

I’ve written about food since 2015 and love eating. I love all food, really — but the beauty of pies is there’s a filling for everyone.

And I write about mental health because it affects us all — and talking about it is a great way to make authentic connections.
