Food and drink copywriter to increase your sales

Hiya, I’m Kate, freelance copywriter, SEO and pie lover.

And I know that you have a fantastic, unique brand that you and your team have poured your heart and soul into.

You own a cafe or restaurant, or you’re a producer or manufacturer with a gorgeous fanbase of locals and regulars who think you’re just scrumptious.

But now you want more people to find your website and spend their money with you.

I’m here to write mouthwatering, sensory copy that engages them and persuades them to choose you.

And I’m here to fully optimise your website so that your perfect customers find you, love you, and always return for more.

Send me a message and let's talk turkey.

The talk turkey button

Uh, and the letters mean what, now?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and matters a lot if you want to be found in Google results.
It involves writing dead nice copy but also a fair bit of technical know-how. The good news is, I can do both.

What is a copywriter?

And who are they copying?

Well, a decent freelance copywriter works directly with your brand to create a collection of highly bespoke words. Words to show the world that your food or drink brand is just bloomin’ lovely — and humanely persuade them to spend their money on you. And that’s what I do, because I’m pretty decent.

P.S. ‘Copy’ just means ‘words’ — all my work is unique, just like you (naww).

Copywriting Services

Once you book with me, our work will include a non-negotiable one-hour call, so I can learn all about your brand. Otherwise, how will I know what to write?

  • Your customers want to hear from you. Like, the real you. Send them some love letters with non-salesy, human, you-based copy on your website, blogs, emails and more.

You need this when: you have a great product and a fab audience, but you want to reach out and grab them (nicely).

Includes: research, brand voice development, SEO friendly copywriting, editing, and liaison.

  • OK, you’ve got your scrummy product, and we’ve put together a great website. But who’s going to find it and come to your counter - and how? SEO is where we make your website searchable and reliable, so that you show up for your customers when they’re looking for you.

You need this when: It’s all done, you’re ready to go with your pretty shop front and shelves filled with goodies, digitally speaking. You want your perfect customer to find you above everyone else and spend their money on you.

Includes: Copy and technical audit, copy and technical amendments, ongoing research, position monitoring, regular updates and reports.

  • Nailing your brand voice will give you an arsenal of words to make you stand out from eeeveryone else. Show your true self, catch people’s attention, and even be bloody adored.

You need this when: you want to make an immediate splash on your website and other places. It’s also great if you have a lot of competitors who do the same thing as you do.

Includes: brand discovery time with you, sample options for you to choose from, brand voice guidelines written in your new style. Complete website rewrite optional — lemme know if you’d like this.

  • We all experience confidence crises, uncertainty, analysis paralysis and just general brain ache when we’re running a business. There’s a lot of advice out there, but who’s there to listen? That’s where my keen listening ear and a decade of copywriting experience come in!

You need this when: you just need to talk it out and have someone ask the right questions so you can find your own answers. Also, when you need a shove in the right direction, armed with hints, tips and advice from an experienced copywriter, all in a handy reference doc!

Includes: a therapeutic one-hour call over a cuppa, active listening from me, a one-page summary with relevant copywriting nuggets, and the option of booking another session or a quote from me to help you with your next copy steps.

Kate is a breath of fresh air to work with, she’s approachable, friendly and a general mood lifter for those who are fortunate enough to work with her!

Sarah’s fave pie: cheese and onion

I cannot overstate the value that Kate has brought to Swoop. Her contributions have been instrumental in our success, and any organization would be lucky to have her expertise. Her work stands as a testament to her skill and dedication to content excellence.

Her Miss Marple approach to careful questioning enables Kate to unpick exactly what the focus needs to be, all while building a unique voice for your brand, which enables you to talk to your audience in the right way and achieve your aim.

Becky Holst, Director at Kudize Club

Becky’s fave pie: steak pie (maybe even put between two slices of buttered white bread with ketchup!) [Note from Kate: GENIUS]

Kate did a fantastic, timely proofreading job on a profile feature I was preparing. She possesses that wonderful ability to take a big picture view with an unerring eye for detail.

The quality I appreciated in Kate is that she is genuinely committed to understanding the voice for each project, so that the brand shines through in the copy.

Harriet Clark, Freelance Content Writer in the CBD and Health and Wellness Industry

Harriet’s fave pie: A samusa or a Cornish pasty [Kate: I ADORE a pasty - read more!]

My conversation with Kate really helped me clarify the direction of my business and reconnect with the values that matter most to me in my work. I came away with more insight into what makes my therapeutic approach unique, and how to communicate that more clearly. Kate is insightful, grounded, and a brilliant listener. I’d wholeheartedly recommend her Copy Café.
